2300 Runners show solidarity with Tibet at Vienna City Marathon!
On the 27th of
April, Vienna city witnessed the Silver Jubilee of the Vienna City Marathon
with more than 30,000 professional and amateur runners. The goorangefortibet.net
Team distributed 2300 orange ribbons among the participants who were extremely
willing to support the Tibetan cause. By wearing this orange ribbon the
athletes showed their concern over Human Rights violations in Tibet and
signalled the communist Chinese regime to restore to the Tibetans their
birth right to self determination and human rights.Such actions should encourage the athletes participating in the 2008 Peking Olympic games, to be the ambassador for the Tibetan people living in Tibet under the tyrannical Chinese rule. These 2300 runners showed solidarity with the Tibetan cause. Many of the runners said FREE TIBET and wished us good luck on our mission for bringing peace on the roof of the world. It was a very positive experience for us, as we came to know that sports people are well aware of the social issues concerning the world and are highly motivated to take action for justice.
Our hearty thanks for your support and for inspiring the Olympic sportsmen to voice their demand for human rights in Tibet.
